Vice President Research and Development

Located about 35 miles east of NYC we are a team of 800 talented employees with an obsession towards QUALITY manufacturing of various types of OTC Personal Care & Home Care Products and associated chemicals. 



  • Formulate a variety of personal & home care products, cosmetics, and OTC’s.
  • Be ahead of the curve with new formulas that use less harsh ingredients
  • Massive understanding of preservatives and EPA disinfect formulations.
  • Help develop, provide, and maintain project tracking documentation to the R&D staff.
  • Work managing R&D project tracking, for both personal and home care divisions.
  • Works with department personnel, marketing, sales, and outside departments to identify new and innovative product opportunities to bring those products to the market by leading projects through the new product development stage through product launch.
  • Provides technical services to other departments
  • Provides technical backup to sales staff on customer calls, and summits
  • Ensures financial viability of projects and that product development timelines are met.
  • Work closely with cross functional team members (sales, regulatory, etc.) to identify trends and market opportunities and help establish product development strategies for specific markets.
  • Must be a team player and work well with cross functional departments.
  • Evaluates competitor products to insure a competitive advantage over competitors.
  • Identifies opportunities for new intellectual property.
  • Constantly looks for opportunities to improve R&D processes, accelerate speed to market and reduce costs.
  • Builds strong working relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Selects, along with purchasing, External Manufacturers when needed.
  • Assist the QA Group in effective manufacturing, pilot and scale up optimization and transfer to the manufacturing group
  • Ability to work with product engineering
  • Accountability for all product & formula innovations that lead to better performing products with a strong focus on lowering formula cost via re-formulation
  • External collaboration with large fortune 500 chemical and product suppliers
Required Qualifications:
  • Working experience in PL or brand or knowledge of Home & PERSONAL Care Products.
  • Knowledge of FDA 21CFR211, 21CFR820, ISO and related guidance documents on design controls and design validation including the FDA Guidance on Process Validation for Pharmaceuticals, January 2011.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in home and personal cosmetic research and development preferred.
  • Regulatory experience as it relates to USEPA disinfectants.
  • Computer Skills – Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Product Development Areas: Laundry & Dish Detergents, Laundry PODS, Hard Surface Cleaners, Bleach, Wipes, Fabric Softeners, Assorted in wash products
  • Experience in label approvals
  • Education: Masters’ Degree in Chemistry or a Life Science with Chemistry Background.
