Production Manager

Located about 35 miles east of NYC we are a team of talented employees with an obsession towards QUALITY manufacturing various types of OTC Care, Personal Care & Home Care Products and associated chemicals.

The Production Manager will work closely with the production team to increase productivity and profitability within the manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Accomplishes timely production by communicating job expectations and providing overall leadership in planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain work flow by monitoring steps of the manufacturing process maintaining processing standards
  • Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data
  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements
  • Maintains compliance with established policies and procedures and maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching and guidance to all operations employees
  • Encourage and promote operating in a continuous improvement environment
  • Remove production constraints; allocate human and equipment resources and direct production employees to attain all established goals
  • Remove waste and constraints from the production process to improve efficiencies and enhance productivity
Qualifications:
  • 7+ years progressive experience in a key leadership/management role at a manufacturing facility
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point and/or Access) to analyze data and trends
  • Previous experience/best practices implementing and using continuous improvement/lean tools such as; Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc. to drive improvement
  • Previous experience/broad understanding of safety systems and enforcement of safety rules and policies.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership, team building and advanced coaching skills
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate people, assess and develop employee skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing
  • operations, maintenance and engineering
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production and maintenance
