Product Manager

Duties:

  • Forms and maintains strategic relationships with key suppliers to identify and control costs, identify rebate opportunities, and act as the main point of contact for assigned suppliers.
  • Manages and is responsible for all aspects of supplier operational performance.
  • Manages and is responsible for all acquisition costs and cost reduction efforts related to assigned suppliers through negotiation with suppliers.
  • Supports development of new products and maintains existing products within the product line.
  • Identifies alternate sources of product for fill-in buys.
  • Resolves quality assurance issues for assigned suppliers.
  • Works cross-functionally with other groups to develop and implement tactical and strategic plans.
  • Develops and manages annual supplier operational and cost down budgets
  • Develops and implements quarterly strategic/tactical plans to support budgeted goals.
  • Reviews monthly key result reporting to determine and report variances to budgeted goals.
  • Responsible for the integrity of the product database.
  • Implements merchandising strategies for multiple brands and product lines. Negotiates, under guidance of management, supplier agreements for new products to ensure the best-cost position
  • Evaluates, under guidance of management, pricing relative to competition and recommends pricing and presentation policies for all product within designated product lines.
  • Executes, under guidance of management, corporate sales objectives for various product lines and creates sales programs to meet these objectives.
  • Evaluates product offerings relative to competitors offerings and makes adjustments to ensure offerings remain competitive.
  • Forecasts, under guidance of management, future needs of customers and manages the development of product lines and service to meet these needs.
  • Manages the expansion of product lines and product line innovation to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Ensures all product and product lines are presented clearly to the customer to maximize effect of advertising and minimize the need for further questions.
  • Manages and creates, under guidance merchandising and promotional initiatives to increase sales.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or the equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of three years of business experience are required
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills are required.
  • Strong negotiation skills are required. In depth knowledge of inventory management and the associated procurement costs is required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the procurement and inventory process and associated costs including inventory, logistics, acquisition costs, purchasing, and related accounting functions are required.
  • Budget development and management skills are required.
  • Excellent presentation skills are required.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are also required
