Manager of Business Development - Communications

Brief Summary: 

  • Plans, directs and coordinates the marketing of assigned products and/or services personally or through subordinate supervisors.
  • Participates in the establishment of marketing goals to ensure share of market and profitability of products and/or services.
  • Identifies new business opportunities and presents to management for pursuit/bid decisions.
  • Develops and executes marketing plans and programs, both short and long range, to ensure that profit growth and expansion of company products and/or services.
  • Formulates capture strategies and provides leadership to capture teams.
  • Researches, analyzes and monitors financial, technological, and demographic factors so that market opportunities may be capitalized on and the effects of competitive activity may be minimized.
  • Develops and recommends pricing strategies for assigned programs and products which will result in the greatest share of the market over the long run.
  • Provides projected orders inputs for assigned programs and products for inclusion in the Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Operating Plan.
  • Attains annual booking objectives for assigned programs/products.
  • Conducts marketing surveys on current and new product concepts. Prepares marketing activity reports


  • Bachelors Degree in Marketing or Engineering
  • 10-15 years related experience in technical sales and government marketing.
  • Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Able to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations is required.
  • Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals is also required.
  • Must have a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret clearance, which includes US citizenship
