International Logistics Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Imports: Ensure proper classification of materials to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS code), proper valuation, correct country of origin or accumulation, and that shipments are in accordance with global bilateral agreements.
  • Exports: Ensure that materials are properly classified to the Scheduled B code, proper valuation, proper ECCN number, and that the shipment is in accordance with all global and bilateral agreements.
  • Internal data entry for inventory and financial tracking/accountability
  • Ability to negotiate terms and contracts with vendors and clients
  • Prepares, submits, and administers export licenses
  • Maintains license files and a database of current and expired licenses
  • Works with program personnel to gather detailed information, review proposals, contracts and/or purchase orders.
  • Communicates with Purchasing, Planning, and/or Sales and Shipping on all international purchases and shipments shipments.
  • Reports Potential Export/Import Violations.
  • Stays abreast of regulatory updates and changes that affect International Logistics.
  • Developing and implementing an export compliance program; ensuring our exports are compliant with government requirements; reviewing export documents.\
  • Managing, mentoring, and developing the International Logistics team.



  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in International Logistic
  • Proven Managerial Skills
  • Knowledge of all NVOCC’s and Ocean Carrier companies
  • Experienced in obtaining bids and price negotiations
  • Thorough knowledge of Import/Export Regulations
  • Knowledge of ECCN database and Schedule B database
  • Strong customer service & problem-solving skills
  • Extensive negotiating skills
  • MS Applications
  • Bi-lingual or Multi-lingual speaking in English, and Spanish and or a command of the Asian Languages is a plus
  • Degree in International Trade or a 4 year Transportation / Logistics related degree
