Green Chemist



  • Independently designs experimental plans, leads study execution, analyzes experimental data, generates laboratory protocols, and writes technical reports, quantitative analyses, and product summaries
  • Drive advancement of organic chemistry production through development of new manufacturing processes, applies green chemistry principles, method standardization, and investigation and development of alternative robust and synthetic methods.
  • Works on complex and challenging problems of broad scope where analysis of situations or data requires a comprehensive evaluation of numerous factors within aggressive timelines
  • Troubleshoots and solves difficult problems in the design/execution of development projects
    Exercises practical judgment within broadly defined practices and policies and exhibits creativity and foresight in selecting approaches and techniques for obtaining solutions
  • Investigates, creates, and incorporates new methods and technologies to improve effectiveness of development workflows
  • Actively capitalizes on knowledge of industry trends to identify new opportunities for novel product offerings that address customer pain points
  • Maintains accurate lab notebook to support protection of intellectual property in accordance with relevant standards
  • Maintains high level of professional expertise and substantial knowledge of principles and theories through familiarity with competing technologies and/or products, review of current scientific literature, and attendance at scientific seminars and meetings
  • Interacts closely with other internal departments (Marketing, Business Development, Quality, Operations and/or Technical Services) in the commercialization of new products
  • Frequent technical interactions with outside collaborators through seminars and publications and with customers through teleconferences, site visits, and scientific meetings
  • Complies with all company safety, training, and quality regulations ( ISO compliance, GLP/GMP requirements, etc.) and procedures
  • Participate as a member of cross-functional, matrix teams, communicating analytical characterization strategies, efforts and results in relation to project goals to an audience of both chemist and non-chemist colleagues
  • May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned



  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 plus years of experience, Master's degree with 3 plus years of experience 2 plus years of industry experience in organic synthesis or other related discipline, or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Hands on expertise in Nucleic acid, Dye & general heterocyclic, surface and carbohydrate chemistry is required
  • Experience with multi-step synthesis, and scale-up/process development
  • Broad familiarity of analytical techniques/ principles associated within compound characterization of new chemical entities
  • Proven proficiency in chemical reaction data analysis, design synthetic pathways, troubleshooting, and the evaluation of new techniques/green chemistry and procedures for manufacturing reagents, systems, products or technologies
  • Hands-on strong wet chemistry synthetic skills and strong publication records
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and solve difficult problems through innovation
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interpret and summarize scientific results in a clear, concise, & accurate manner
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to efficiently evaluate and adapt to changing project priorities
