DIVISIONAL PRESIDENT

Communication Systems Division Overview:

Communication Systems is a leading supplier of commercial and military interior communications and audio distribution systems, wireless communication products and integrated radio management systems.

Our team of professionals and our specially equipped facility are dedicated to communication systems technology. By focusing on our core competencies in RF design, digital signal processing (DSP), and audio techniques, we provide advanced solutions to complex problems associated with present and future communication requirements.  The Divisions staff consists of 230 employees of which 110 are engineers.

Qualifications Summary:

The President of the CSD organization must be a proven leader with 15-20 years experience working with military and commercial customers, both domestically and internationally. They must be a person of high integrity with good judgment and outstanding leadership skills. Must be capable of developing strategies and plans that ensure the growth of the Division at a minimum of 10% per year.  Must establish the technical and financial goals and objectives for their subordinates and must institute the policies and procedures to facilitate and monitor the achievement of these goals. The President must be a "hands on" leader and exhibit the ability to motivate employees in the Division. Should be an innovator with a clear vision of where they want to take the Division, and how, working within the Corporate structure, they plan on realizing this vision. They must have the ability to create a team spirit while maintaining a constructive, competitive atmosphere among the members of the Division. A major responsibility of this position includes the development of new business through aggressive, but organized and coordinated, sales and marketing efforts. The President of CSD must be a highly respected and known member of the aerospace community with a solid background and experience in dealing with U.S. and International government agencies. Finally, the President must be capable of discovering, evaluating, and recommending appropriate acquisition candidates, teaming arrangements, and joint ventures related to the Divisions product lines for the Corporation to consider.


The Division President is responsible for the development of the annual Divisional Operating and Strategic plans. Will be responsible for the total financial performance of the Division including profit and loss (P&L) results, capital expenditures, inventory management, and cash flow. Working with subordinates, they will formulate the strategic expenditure of discretionary funds for research and development and bid and proposal (B&P) so as to maximize the return on these investments. They will conduct, direct, and review all programs and other on-going activities in the Division to ensure that the technical, contractual, and financial goals and objectives are met on time. The President is responsible for setting the Divisions' strategic plan, Orders goals and objectives and to insure they are met or exceeded and will coordinate all sales and marketing functions of the Division to that end. This position will report directly to the Corporate President.


Requirements:

Must have, as a minimum, a BSEE degree; MSEE or MBA is preferred. Must have the ability to develop and make executive presentations with strong communication skills. The President must have a strong focus and a proven track record in management with strong leadership skills. . Must possess a substantial understanding of business cases in financial issues and market analyses as well as the ability to direct, motivate, mentor and engage subordinates in these functions 

Key requirements for a potential Candidate: A potential candidate must be capable of:

  • Establishing short-term and long-range program and business objectives and plans for the Division
  • Assuming responsibility for Division profit and loss and the total composite performance for all Division programs and projects, inclusive of sales, margin, overhead budgets, capital expenditures, schedule adherence, technical compliance, customer satisfaction, and B&P and IR&D budget compliance
  • Ensuring that the Division's strategic marketing plans are adequate to achieve Divisional orders, sales and profit objectives by challenging the Vice President of Business Development and Product Line Vice Presidents, working as a team, to aggressively pursue increasing market share consistent with the long-range goals and objectives of the Division and the Company
  • Advising, guiding, directing and delegating the authority to carry out operating plans consistent with established Company policies and procedures
  • Guiding and advising Division staff members in development, production, promotion and sale of the Division's products and services
  • Consistently reviewing and evaluating program and project status, comparing to established goals and objectives, and taking necessary steps to ensure corrective actions are implemented expeditiously
  • Establishing and maintaining effective communication throughout the organization
  • Overseeing bid/no-bid and make-or-buy processes within the Division and reviewing and approving all customer proposals
  • Promoting strategic teaming arrangements and acquisition initiatives
  • Overseeing and evaluating market research efforts and adjusting market strategies to meet changing market and competitive conditions thus ensuring competitive products and market positioning
  • Establishing and maintaining close working relationships with industry and key local and governmental community leaders through active participation in related industry organizations
  • Maintaining a sound organizational plan and establishing policies to ensure adequate staff development and promotional opportunities within the organization
